Amritsari Fish Fry

An easy fish starter recipe under 30 minutes.

A lightly battered fish fry in Indian spices, ginger+garlic paste and gram flour (chickpea) . It’s crunchy and light to eat. Works great as an appetizer.
Amritsari Fish Fry

Prep time: 10 minutes Cook time: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS :

Fish fillet (cleaned and cut into small pieces) 500 gms

Gram flour 3 tsp

Rice flour 3 tsp

Yogurt 4 tbsp

Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

Red chilli powder 1 tsp

Chilly flakes 1 tsp

Coriander powder 1 tsp

Cumin powder 1 tsp

Ginger-garlic paste 1 tbsp

Lemon juice 2 tbsp

Oil for deep frying


PREPARATION :

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients except the fish and oil. 


Mix them and make it into a paste now marinate the fish pieces in them, coat them well, and keep in the refrigerator for half an hour.


Heat oil in the pan for frying, then add few pieces of fish (don't overcrowd the pan) and fry them golden brown on low to medium flame. 


Serve these tasty, yummy fish fry with some sliced onions and green chutney
