This broccoli mac and cheese is an easy 30 minutes recipe with tender pasta in a creamy cheddar cheese sauce and plenty of fresh steamed broccoli.

INGREDIENTS :
Pasta (any shape, I used shells) 300 gms
Salted butter 2 tbsp
Garlic(finely chopped) 4 large cloves
Onion (finely chopped) 1 medium size
All-purpose flour 2 tbsp
Milk 1 1/3 cup
Water (use the water in which u boil the pasta) 1 cup
Salt as per taste
Black pepper powder as per taste
Mixed herbs 2 tsp
Chilly flakes 1 tsp
Broccoli florets (chopped and blanched) 100 gms
Cheddar cheese (grated) 200 gms
PREPARATION :
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions, drain well (save the drained water for later use).
Melt butter in a large non-stick pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onions, and cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Whisk in flour until lightly browned, about 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk, pasta boiled water until slightly thickened, about 3-4 minutes. If the mixture is too thick, add more milk as needed; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Stir in pasta, broccoli, mixed herbs, chilly flakes, and cheese until well combined, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve immediately.
